Every year, we think oh I am going to do so much this summer and it is going to be a blast and then by late August it's like oh...what did I even do. Well, I am excited to say that this year that was not me!!! Even though July was kind of boring because there was no big events, but besides that June and August was pretty rad.
June
At the end of June my friend, mom and I all drove to Gatlinburg, TN for vacation!! On Sunday, I met up with my grade school/high school friend and we went to Dollywood and spent the day riding roller coasters, watching shows, and eating cinnamon bread! It was such a great time to meet up with him since we have not seen each other for 3 years. During the week we went shopping, drove around Cades Cove and ate out a lot.
July
I said July was not that eventful, but I forgot about all the fun things that I did do. My friend and I went and seen Old Dominion in a town about an hour away and ate some fair food. Later in the month, I met up with this guy I was talking to and we went to a derby and had our first date. Even though we ended up not dating it was still a good time. At the end of July, my other and I went to another derby. Needless to say I absolutely love demolition derbys! On July 5th, mom and I went and sat at a church parking lot and watched the fireworks.
August
August was a rather rad month as well! My mother and I stayed all night in Evansville, IN to attend the Dolly Parton concert. Dolly, does put on a pretty good concert and I have always wanted to see her perform since I just love Dollywood and she was one of the first country music artists that I started listening to. Later in the month my best friend and I attended Scheid Diesel Extravaganza in Terre Haute, IN for it's 20th Anniversary. Honestly, this was the best night of my life, loud, lifted trucks, hot guys and good food was definitely had! Scheid always gets a bad name because of the alcohol, and girls showing their boobs and all of arrests. This year though everything was calmed down and we did not have any problems besides people not letting us through at the after party which we decided to leave because we could not find a parking spot. Oh and I got glasses! Yep, you read that right, my vision was bothering me a lot when I was driving or trying to watch tv or anything and went to the eye doctor. Even though the doctor said I didn't necessarily need the glasses he gave me a prescription anyways. Anyone who knows me know that I have always wanted to wear glasses and I do wear them when I need them.
September
Even though a lot of people do not count September as summer, I still do since fall does not start until later in the month. During the month of September, I met a new guy and we went on a date to the Rodeo that is near by for Labor Day Weekend. I have not been to the rodeo since I was 18 months old and we all know you cannot remember anything that young. It was a really great time and I cannot wait to go next year. On September 6th, I decided it was time to cut my hair short and that was the day I got 6 1/2 inches cut off. After getting my hair cut, I drove to Terre Haute and got my belly button pierced. Yes, I know most people who get their belly buttons pierced they are skinny girls and I decided you know what it's not a law to have a flat stomach for this piercing. To be honest, yes it did hurt and the worst part is not being able to sleep on your stomach at all.
This has been the best summer of my life and I got to do so many different things and that is what you should be doing. Always learning and experiencing new things is the best way to create memories. From going on vacation, meeting new guys, dating, to doing something I always wanted to do, I can guarantee it was a great summer!!
