Yesterday, my friend and I went fishing it was fun until I got home after having to go back for my phone and I had a swollen eye. As you could probably tell from the title, I did indeed get bit. My senior year of high school I got bit by a gnat and my eye swelled up to the point that I could hardly see out of it. This is the same thing that happened to me yesterday. Luckily today my eye is almost back to normal. A few things that I did was take a tyenol, then I put some ice in a napkin and held it over my eye. Later on in the night I held a hot wash rag over my eye then a couple hours later I did the same thing. The last time this happened to me, I never put ice or hot wash rag on it and my eye was horrible. My mother offered to get Benedryl to help with the reaction, but I am not one to take medicine and it is fine for now.
For those of you who are wondering if I put any bug spray on, yes I did I put some on my legs, arms, and put some on my hands for my face. Sadly the gnats still came in my sunglasses and bit me. They also got my neck as well, so the spray did not really help much with the gnats. I am not entirely sure on what to use to keep the gnats from attacking, so if anyone know of anything please share!
Since yesterday was my first time fishing ever, I did catch a blue gill! No, we did not keep the fish, just kept it long enough to get a picture.
